The Lofoten Islands provide photographers with boundless prospects, featuring breathtaking landscapes, picturesque villages, and the opportunity to capture the enchanting Northern Lights. Thanks to our lessons and group experience you will leave with stunning memories.
We will stay in splendid hotels and rorbu, and unlike other tours we have tried to make you as private as possible so that each of you has a single room at your disposal, and in the most beautiful stops, even an entire independent apartment on a fjord as you can see from the photos. Obviously, if traveling as a couple, you can request double rooms.
Itinerary:
All aboard: let the trip begin!
The trip to the Lofoten islands in the month of February is the most beautiful period but it is also the one in which low temperatures and snowstorms can give us some unpredictable surprises: we have adapted the tour based on previous experiences in order to make your arrival easier at the airport and facilitate a smooth departure.

After a sunrise breakfast, we will drive approximately 4.5 hours across the breathtaking Lofoten Islands, crossing majestic bridges and fjords. Our route leads to the Reine/Sund area, home to some of the most stunning landscapes we’ll explore in the coming days. Along the way, we’ll stop at scenic locations, including a spectacular beach with a short hiking trail. By evening, we will settle into traditional RORBU cabins near Kåkeren, offering a cozy and stylish stay just steps away from Lofoten’s famous landmarks. These cabins provide stunning views and easy access to prime photography locations, even for the Aurora spots.

Our day starts with a sunrise photography session in Reine, followed by a visit to Hamnøy. We will spend the day exploring Reine, continuing west to the remote village of Tind, where the road ends. Along the way, we’ll stop at a local fish market, showcasing Lofoten’s best seafood products.

We’ll witness colorful landscapes and end the day with a sunset session overlooking the fjord. Later, we will check into a hotel near the airport (50 minutes away) for a convenient departure the following day.
Day 8
Harstad/Evenes
The journey comes to an end, leaving each traveler with unforgettable memories and a portfolio full of stunning photographs.
Note: The cabins where we stay for 4 days in same place ( Day 2 – 6)are not hotels but fully-equipped apartments with all necessary amenities. We will stop for grocery shopping, and for breakfast, you will find basic essentials in your room, including tea, coffee, biscuits, a kettle for hot water, fruit juices, toast, and small jars of jam.
For lunch, we will try to stop in locations where you can have a light meal without losing valuable daylight hours.
Every evening, depending on weather conditions and group energy levels, we will hold a “Photography Aperitif” in our teachers’ RORBU. This will be an opportunity to gather, enjoy an Italian-style aperitif, and discuss the day’s events (daily recap), share insights about the next day’s schedule, and connect over a glass of prosecco and snacks. Occasionally, if you wish, we may also prepare some traditional Italian dishes for you.
Night Photography & Training Sessions:
Weather permitting, we will go out each night for at least one hour of night photography, adjusting our schedule to maximize opportunities. The Arctic weather changes rapidly, so we need to be flexible.
Note: The itinerary may change based on weather conditions and unexpected road situations.
Drone Photography: If you have a licensed drone, we will offer dedicated classes on drone operation, aerial photography, and videography.
• Additionally, in case of bad weather or free time, we will organize training sessions in our RORBU’s dedicated photography room. These sessions will cover Lightroom, Photoshop, photography basics, and camera settings, allowing us to continue learning comfortably while waiting for better weather conditions.
